Frequently Asked Questions

Transcript: So one of the frequently asked questions that we get, because we are open from 9 to 5, and a lot of people work from 9 to 5, is how we can accommodate them. We do offer early bird drop boxes so that if before 9 works better, and then we have an afterhours pick-up, where we have lockboxes that we can put your keys in so that only you know that code to get it out. So you don’t have to worry about spares or anything like that. And then if you work from 9 to 5, you can come get it anytime, that night, the next morning, whatever works. We try to be as accommodating as possible.

We understand the challenges of working a traditional 9 to 5 schedule. For those who need to drop off their vehicle before 9 am, we offer early bird drop boxes. If you need to pick up your vehicle after hours, we have lockboxes where we can securely place your keys. You’ll be the only one with the code to retrieve them, eliminating the need for spare keys. Additionally, if you work from 9 to 5, you can pick up your vehicle at your convenience, whether that’s later the same day, that night, or the next morning. We strive to make our services as accommodating as possible for all our customers.

Transcript: So how long is this going to take? There are a lot of variables into that. When we do our inspections, we are very thorough and we take our time in making sure that we have accurate estimates, accurate diagnosis process to make sure that we get it right the first time, and make sure that you have all of the information needed to accurately assess the situation and make the best decision for you and your family.

The duration of our services can vary based on several factors. At SubieSmith, we prioritize thoroughness in our inspections and diagnosis processes. We take the time needed to ensure our estimates are accurate and our diagnoses are precise, aiming to get it right the first time. This approach ensures that you have all the information necessary to assess the situation and make the best decision for you and your family. While this may add some time to the initial assessment, it ultimately saves time by avoiding potential rework or misdiagnoses.

Transcript: Are we certified? Yes, we are ASE-Certified which is the national standard for technicians. Not only is it a test and course that we have to take and pass, we have to recertify every 5 years so that way when you bring your vehicle in, you can be confident that we are up to date on all of the interworkings of your vehicle.

At SubieSmith, our technicians are ASE-Certified, which is the national standard for automotive technicians. This certification requires passing rigorous tests and courses. Additionally, our technicians must recertify every 5 years. This ensures that when you bring your vehicle to us, you can be confident that our team is knowledgeable and up to date on all the intricacies of your vehicle.

Transcript: A lot of repair shops, when you bring in your vehicle, they will tell you that everything needs to be fixed or it’s not going to run. We prioritize that for you, for safety items, because not everything that needs to be repaired needs to be repaired right now.

We have a green, yellow, and red system on our inspections. The slight, not really a problem. The moderate will be a problem in a certain amount of time and then the severity of the problem. We help you make the decisions of what is urgent and safety-related versus things that are ready when you are, when time and budget allow. It’s not going to directly affect the safety of the vehicle.

We don’t do anything without your expressed consent. If we don’t have a “Yes, let’s do this, for this amount of money,” we will wait until we get that expressed consent. We will walk them through whatever process. If that means taking 45 minutes to talk them through the process on the phone, we are more than happy to do that with them. If they would like to come in while their vehicle is being worked on, we are more than happy to go out with them and show them what we’re doing and kind of walk them through the process, as well as saving the old parts as proof. Not only that we did it, but to explain to them what was wrong and why it needed to be replaced.

All of our pricing is package pricing, so parts, labor, and taxes and fees are included. And so, when you come pick up, it is the same price as when we authorize it over the phone or in person, there’s no extra hidden fees or anything like that. So you can be confident when you bring your vehicle in for an honest opinion on the longevity of the vehicle, rest assured that is exactly what you will get.

At SubieSmith, we prioritize safety and transparency in our repair process.

We use a green, yellow, and red system during inspections to categorize the urgency of repairs. Green indicates minor issues that don’t require immediate attention, yellow represents moderate issues that will need to be addressed in the near future, and red signifies severe problems that need immediate attention for safety reasons.

We understand that not all repairs need to be done right away, so we help you differentiate between what is urgent and what can wait until your schedule and budget allow. We never proceed with any repairs without your expressed consent. Whether it’s spending 45 minutes on the phone explaining the process or walking you through the repairs in person, we are committed to ensuring you understand the repairs needed and why they are necessary.

All our pricing is package pricing, which includes parts, labor, taxes, and fees. This means that the price we quote you is the price you pay, with no hidden fees or surprises. Additionally, we save your old parts as proof and to explain what was wrong and why it needed to be replaced.

When you bring your vehicle to SubieSmith, you can be confident that you’ll receive an honest assessment of your vehicle’s condition and a transparent repair process.
